Why gutters matter
Water that misses the gutter ends up in the basement
Clogged, undersized or sagging gutters dump water right next to the house. Over time that means rotted fascia, stained siding, washed-out landscaping and wet basements.
A gutter system that works carries every drop from the roof to a downspout and out past the foundation. Because we're roofers too, we get the parts that meet the roof right: the drip edge, the pitch and the flashing.

Repair or replace?
Signs your gutters need attention
Overflowing in normal rain
Water spilling over the front edge means clogs, too little pitch, or gutters too small for the roof.
Water at the foundation
Puddles by the house or a damp basement after rain often trace back to gutters and downspouts.
Sagging or pulling away
Loose spikes and hangers let runs sag, so water collects instead of draining.
Leaking seams and corners
Sectional gutters leak where pieces join. Seamless runs remove most of those joints.
Rotting fascia
Soft, peeling or dark fascia boards behind the gutter mean water has been getting behind it.
Stripes on the siding
Dark streaks below the gutter line show where water runs down the house instead of the downspout.

Materials and guards
The right gutter for your house
- Seamless aluminum
- The most popular choice: affordable, rust-free, and painted to match your trim.
- Copper
- Premium and long-lasting, with soldered joints and a patina that suits older homes.
- Steel
- Strong where gutters take impacts, and common on commercial buildings.
- K-style or half-round
- K-style suits most houses; half-round matches traditional architecture.

Gutter guards
Micro-mesh blocks even pine needles. Perforated covers are a balanced, easy-care option. Reverse curve works only with the right pitch.
We match the guard to your trees, roof pitch and how much upkeep you want.

FAQ
Gutter questions
Do I need 5" or 6" gutters?
6" gutters carry noticeably more water and suit large or steep roofs and long runs. Many Staten Island homes do fine with 5". We size them for your roof area and pitch, and explain why.
What does gutter installation cost?
It depends on linear footage, the number of stories, corners and downspouts, the material and whether you add guards. On Staten Island, seamless aluminum gutters average about $8.90–$22 per linear foot installed. Your free estimate gives you an exact price.
Are seamless gutters better?
For most homes, yes. They're made from one continuous piece per run, so the only joints are at corners and downspouts. Fewer joints means fewer leaks.
Are gutter guards worth it?
On tree-lined streets they usually are. Micro-mesh blocks even pine needles, perforated covers are a good balance, and reverse-curve guards only work with the right pitch. We'll recommend one based on your trees and roof.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
At least twice a year, in spring and fall, and more often under heavy trees. Guards cut that down a lot.
Will new gutters fix my wet basement?
Often they help a lot, especially with downspouts that carry water well away from the house. Grading and drainage can also play a part, and we'll tell you if we see that.
Can you match my trim color?
Yes. Aluminum comes in dozens of baked-on colors, and copper and steel are available too.
Do you fix rotted fascia behind the gutters?
Yes. We replace rotted wood and wrap it in aluminum before the new gutters go up. See soffit and fascia.
